Slovenia Tops Global Heart Transplant Statistics
Ljubljana, 13 January - Slovenian doctors perform the largest number of heart transplants per million people in the world, 2013 data from the International Registry of Organ Donation and Transplantation (IRODaT) shows. Moreover, 80% of the patients are still alive five years after the transplant, which is slightly above the global average.
