Government Measures to Boost Slovenia's Economy

In response to weakening economic trends both in Slovenia and abroad, the government adopted late this week a package of economic measures to disburden economy and increase its competitive potentials. To take effect on 1 July, the package includes two new bills, four amendments to the existing laws and a budget re-balance, with the main measure being cuts in social contributions, through which the government has implemented its policy of reducing direct taxation of labour costs.
