Carnival Festivities Begin as Winter Is In Full Swing
Ptuj/Cerknica/Cerkno, 7 February - Carnival characters, including one of Slovenia's most famous, the kurenti, will have their work cut out for them chasing the winter away as shrovetide celebrations kick off this weekend since much of the country is still covered by a snow blanket.
