Premier Drnovšek: Government Can Count On Support And Stability Before Elections

Ljubljana, 31 May - SLOVENIJA/GOVERNMENT/DRNOVŠEK
Slovene Premier Janez Drnovšek told at a news conference Friday that the Government can count on stability and support until the end of the mandate (until the parliamentary elections in autumn 1996), drawing attention to the danger of "strike pressures", which represent a threat to the economic situation of Slovenia as well as to a potential inflation growth. The Government party coalition of the Slovenian Christian Democrats (SKD) and the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS) is expected to function also after a formal breaking off of the coalition agreement - scheduled for the Tuesday's session of the LDS council next week - in accordance with a new arrangement, which Drnovšek is going to propose to the SKD.
