Army Predecessor Formed in Wake of First Multi-Party Elections

Ljubljana, 6 April - The first multi-party elections in Slovenia in April 1990 were part of a chain of events leading to Slovenia's independence and transformation into a full-fledged democracy a year later. Building an armed force to safeguard the efforts was identified as a key priority soon after the election.
