Bust of Srečko Kosovel Unveiled in Trieste

Trieste, 11 June - MONUMENT/TRIESTE/KOSOVEL/ILLY/GABER
A bust of Slovene poet Srečko Kosovel was solemnly unveiled Tuesday morning right in the middle of the public garden in the centre of Trieste. The solemnity, conducted both in Slovene and Italian, was attended among others by Mayor of Trieste Riccardo Illy, Mayor of Ljubljana Dimitrij Rupel and Mayor of Koper Aurelio Juri as well as mayors of smaller communities in the Trieste region and municipalities on the Slovene side of the border. Also attending the unveiling of the monument were Slovene Minister of Education and Sport Slavko Gaber and representatives of the Slovene consulate in Trieste headed by Consul General Vlasta Valenčič Pelikan.
