Package of Election Laws Changes Endorsed at First Reading

Ljubljana, 17 June - The National Assembly backed at first reading a package of legislative changes aiming to prevent individuals sentenced to more than six months in prison from running for public office. The opposition Democrats (SDS) and New Slovenia (NSi) expressed the strongest reservations but nonetheless backed the changes at this stage.
