Wedding in the Focus at Slovenian Expo Pavilion

Milan, 26 September - The Slovenian Pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan will be showcasing Slovenia as a wedding destination on Saturday. The theme of weddings, fashion, and food will be brought to the forefront with a fashion story entitled "Ljubezen gre skozi želodec" (The way to a lover's heart is through the stomach).

The showcase will coincide with Milan's famous Fashion Week, the public agency SPIRIT said as it announced the event.

The agency buit the fashion show on Slovenia's promotional slogan "I Feel Slovenia", underscoring Slovenia is the only country with the word "love" in its name, which in their opinion makes it an even more suitable wedding destination.

They also believe that the theme of love goes hand in hand with Expo's main theme of food, as it plays a significant role at weddings.

The Slovenian pavilion will hold a series of events beginning with a fashion show by young designer Maja Leskovšek, who received the I feel Slovenia award on the young fashion designers' competition during Ljubljana's Fashion Week.

The main event will be the afternoon fashion show, where Slovenian designer Maja Štamol will showcase wedding and ball gowns in collaboration with the Sens fashion label for men.

The show will be followed by a presentation of prominent Slovenian wedding locations and food tastings. The pavilion will also hold an exhibition of lace accessories designed by students at the Maribor Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

The organisers say that the pavilion is breaking records with the number of visitors, reaching more than 8,000 visitors a day.
