Inaugural Session of Governmental Council of Tourism

Ljubljana, 11 July - The Slovene Governmet's Council of Tourism held its inaugural session Thursday. The decision to form the Council was adopted by the Government on 30 April. Head of the Council of Tourism Borut Mokrovič said the Council is to be active mainly in the fields of legislation, development and promotion of tourism. The Council is to deal chiefly with global issues and strategically connect activities of various governmental institutions, said Mr Mokrovič, explaining that promotion of tourism does not promote merely tourism. The Council will also act as a governmental counseling body.
