Law giving army police powers delayed by referendum petition
Ljubljana, 28 October - Legislative amendments giving soldiers limited police powers to help police patrol the border will not take effect on Wednesday. A student radio station lodged a referendum motion that could delay implementation by several weeks or more, potentially causing problems for the government.
