Slovenia's road to independence
Ljubljana, 26 December - December marks 25 years since Slovenians turned out en masse for a referendum in which they voted overwhelmingly for the country's independence, a milestone in their efforts for an independent state. Below is a timeline of some of the events leading to the establishment of the Republic of Slovenia:
