Group proposes political reconciliation through statue

Ljubljana, 5 February - A prominent conservative group has launched a campaign to erect the statue of Ivan Cankar (1876-1918), considered the nation's greatest writer, in the biggest square in the capital city to promote national reconciliation.

President of the Assembly for the Republic France Cukjati, and members Janko Kos, a literary historian, and Janez Juhant, a theologist, present an initiative to erect a statue of Ivan Cankar in Ljubljana.
