Slovenian appointed Vatican's observer to UN
Vatican City, 15 February - Slovenian Ivan Jurkovič, an archbishop who has acted as the Vatican's nuncio to Russia and Uzbekistan since 2011, has been appointed the Holy See's new Permanent Observer to the United Nations in Geneva. The appointment comes just days after the historic meeting between Pope Francis and Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill in Cuba.
