Author Ivan Cankar celebrated as 140 years pass since his birth

Ljubljana, 10 May - One of Slovenia's foremost authors, Ivan Cankar (1876-1918), who is credited as the pioneer of modernism in Slovenian literature, was born 140 years ago. According to literary historian Irena Avsenik Nabergoj, he was an excellent stylist that put Slovenian literature on a par with the European.
