State forestry company to start operations

Ljubljana, 30 June - A wholly state-owned company managing forests in state ownership will formally launch operations on Friday, marking a sea-change in how the 22% of Slovenian forests not in private or local community ownership are managed.

Pivka, in southwestern Slovenia, is encased in ice as the ice storm that brought freezing rain and sleet persists for the fifth day.
