Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from 26 through 31 August

Ljubljana, 31 August - August inflation was 0.1 percent. Retail prices, the basis for calculating inflation, increased by 0.1 percent in August over July, by 6.2 percent over December 1995 and by 10.3 percent over August 1995. For the first time this year commodity prices took a downward trend, decreasing by 0.6 percent in August over July. They gained 6.2 percent over December 1995 and 10.4 percent over August 1995.
