Gorenje fails to lift stock index

Ljubljana, 26 July - The shares of household appliances maker Gorenje soared 6.84% to EUR 7.03 on Tuesday on the back of news of a potential bid by Panasonic, but failed to dispel the mood of pessimism on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange. The SBI TOP index closed 0.15% lower at 708.55 points. Most of the EUR 595,000 in overall turnover was generated on the prime market.
