Several events have been held in Slovenia to mark the Europe-wide Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Totalitarian Regimes. Bishop Anton Jamnik stressed the role of values for democracy and former President Borut Pahor urged the government to undo the "unacceptable" abolishment of Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Communist Violence.

Goran Dragić, one of the greatest Slovenian basketball players, who played 15 seasons in the NBA and captained the national team that won the 2017 EuroBasket, will say goodbye to his illustrious career by hosting an exhibition game in Ljubljana's Stožice Arena on Saturday. The spectacle will be preceded by a charity auction and a business event.

The insurance group Sava increased its turnover in by 14.0% in the first half of the year to EUR 563.8 million, wile net profit grew 11.1% to EUR 44.5 million year-on-year, shows an unaudited report released by the company on Friday. Sava noted that growth was recorded in all operating segments.

Slovenia's largest energy group Petrol reported on Friday a net profit of EUR 52.1 million for the first half of the year, a 1% decrease year-on-year, as sales revenue fell by 14% to 2.9 billion. The management said the company responded well to a challenging market situation, including to the continuing petroleum product price regulation.
