BeerLab, located in the centre of Maribor, lets visitors use brewing equipment and purchase raw materials to brew their own beer in a simple way.

Katja Horvat of the Citilab creative technologies institute, which operates the DIY brewery, said BeerLab was received well by the public.

Since its launch in late 2015, BeerLab has seen visitors brewing at least two batches of beer a month.

After the proper cocktail is crafted, the beer is fermented in BeerLab for two to three weeks before it can be bottled.

Brewers can then take their bottled beer home, but it must be left to age for some time before consumption.

Visitors can use BeerLab and get help from brewing experts for a fee of EUR 20-35.

According to Horvat, breweries similar to BeerLab are being opened throughout Slovenia.
