Budget deficit at EUR 687m in 2016, significantly below plans

Ljubljana, 17 January - Slovenia recorded a budget deficit of EUR 689m in 2016, significantly below the EUR 839m budgeted for the year, according to preliminary data released by the Finance Ministry on Tuesday. Excluding interest expenditure, which amounted to EUR 1.06bn, the budget had a surplus of EUR 346m.
