Mercator deep in the red but confident about future

Ljubljana, 26 April - Slovenia's largest retailer Mercator posted a EUR 72.7m loss for 2016, mostly on account of higher investments and impairments on claims to Agrokor group companies. Despite the steep loss, CEO Tomislav Čizmić remains buoyant, stressing that the company is stable and has been gaining market share, which will be crucial as the Agrokor story unfolds.
