The broadcast will be enabled by the state-owned Slovenian Tourism Board (STO), which has secured EUR 300,000 for the project that will also promote Slovenia as a green tourist destination.

"Intensive advertising will take place between April and June, while Eurosport will broadcast events for six hours during the race, with more than two hours being dedicated to Slovenia's natural wonders, landscapes, our icons," STO director said at the presentation.

According to her, everything about the race will be green, with the new logo being green/blue and the leader of the race wearing a green jersey.

The race will feature four stages, with the first starting in Koper and finishing in Kočevje. The 159.4-km stage will be followed by a 169.9-km stage which starts and finishes in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana.

The third, mountain stage, which is 167.7 km long, will take the competitors from Celje to the Rogla plateau and will feature two more ascents, while the final, 160-km stage, will start in Rogaška Slatina and end, as usual, in Novo mesto.

With more than a month until the race, the organisers would not speculate on which star cyclists will be in Slovenia in June. Race director Bogdan Fink said only that Mark Cavendish of the UK was on the list, but that he first needed to get well.

"There will be five elite teams at the start, these are Bora-Hansgroge, Orica-Scott, Dimension Data, UAE Emirates and Bahrain Merida. We cannot tell at the moment who from these teams will come," Fink said.
