Slovenia and Croatia in joint bid to protect olive oil

Ljubljana, 4 May - Slovenian and Croatian oil makers have come to an agreement to submit a joint application for EU Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) for extra virgin olive oil from Istria under the name Istria oil. Oil from Slovenian Istria has had EU PDO status since 2007, but a joint PDO could bring wider recognition on a global level.
