The route will open on 29 October, with night flights to Kiev scheduled each Thursday, Friday and Sunday and flights in the opposite direction on Monday, Friday and Saturday, Adria Airways said on Monday.

Adria Airways CEO Arno Schuster believes that the route will also provide a better connection for Ukraine via Ljubljana to other European destinations and that it will boost economic cooperation.

Formerly Slovenia's state-owned flag carrier, Adria was acquired by 4k Invest, a turnaround fund, in early 2016.
