Koper mayor joins presidential race

Koper, 4 September - Boris Popovič, the long-serving mayor of Koper, has announced that he would run for president in the 22 October election. He told the newspaper Primorske novice that he would start collecting the 3,000 voter signatures he needs to run on Monday. His candidacy will also be endorsed by his non-parliamentary party Slovenia Forever.
