Slovenia wraps up EuroBasket group stage without a loss
Helsinki, 6 September - The Slovenian men's national basketball team remained unbeaten in the group stage of the EuroBasket as they cruised past France 95:78 in Helsinki on Wednesday to earn the top spot in group A. The team will now travel to Istanbul to play in the knock-out round of 16, where they will face Ukraine, Georgia or Italy on Saturday.
Slovenia won the first three quarters and lost on the last quarter when the winner had already been decided.
Goran Dragić of the Miami Heat was again the star of the team, scoring a game-high 22 points and adding 8 assists, followed by Luka Dončić with 15 points.
Slovenia's score of 95 is the second-highest total at the European championships, coming after the team broke the 100-point barrier for the first time ever yesterday against Iceland.
