SMC fields education minister as presidential candidate
Ljubljana, 7 September - The ruling Modern Centre Party (SMC) announced on Thursday that it would field Education, Science and Sport Minister Maja Makovec Brenčič as its candidate for the 22 October presidential elections. SMC president and Prime Minister Miro Cerar labelled the candidate as "courageous and determined".
