President has limited powers, but bears strong symbolic role

Ljubljana, 25 September - The office of the president of the republic in Slovenia has mostly a representational role, with its powers being considerably limited in comparison to similar European parliamentary systems. Nevertheless, the directly-elected president bears a strong symbolic role.
