Join European sport week, hike in memory of 1948 film
Ljubljana, 27 September - Recreationists are invited this week to join the activities as part of the European Week of Sport in Slovenia, or a hike along the thematic path dedicated to the heritage of the 1948 film On Our Own Land.

The European Week of Sport, an initiative launched by the European Commission, started on 23 September and will run until 30 September.
Running under the motto Be Active, the week will culminate on Friday and Saturday with an Olympic Festival in Ljubljana, an event where children will be able to try out as many as 40 different sports.
Hikers are meanwhile invited to the 5th hike on the thematic path dedicated to the Slovenan 1948 film Na svoji zemlji (On Our Own Land) on Saturday as part of the 2017 Hiking Festival.
The hike will start in the town of Tolmin (W) and will take place in the valley of the Bača river, where a majority of the war film was shot.
The film depicts the last two years of World War II in the Slovenian Littoral, a region occupied by the Italians.
"The hike preserves the memory of the creators and locals at the time of the filming. Thematic tables stand at the places where the most important scenes in the film were shot", the organisers say.
