Ilka Štuhec joins Milka Ski Stars
Ljubljana, 3 October - The reigning world downhill champion, Slovenian Ilka Štuhec, will be joining the Milka Ski Stars group of skiers in the coming season. She will be wearing the emblematic violet helmet with ilka written on it in big white letters.
"It's a great honour to be in the Milka family; great," Štuhec said. "They were brought together by their passion for skiing: Milka and Ilka. What seems like a humorous wordplay at first sight, is actually the beginning of a new partnership," added the Milka team.
By becoming a member of the Milka team, Štuhec will join the company of skiers such as Slovenia's best skier to date Tina Maze, Italian Elena Curtoni, Austrian Michaela Kirchgasser and France's Tessa Worley.
Last season, Štuhec compiled 13 podium finishes and seven victories to finish the World Cup season second overall. She won the small crystal globe in the downhill as well as became the world champion in the discipline in St. Moritz.
Speaking about her plans for the coming season, the Slovenian skier noted that it was "nice to remember all the victories and great feelings, but the new season is practically here and it would be unfair to do nothing new".
"The great feelings are written down, but I have to ski and give it everything regardless of the past season," she added.
