The concept is build on supporters contributing through crypto currency transactions and getting in exchange crypto tokens that are a kind of a ticket for accessing a startup's service.

Six startups from around the world will be raising funds at the Cofound.it Playoffs event, each targeting between US$250,000 and US$375,000.

Aversafe from Singapore is developing a web platform for detecting fake diplomas and other certificates, while Slovenia's DataFund is building a protocol and distributed application (dApp) that guards personal data, provides safe storage and enables data exchange.

ENTX from the US is creating a platform that provides fair market valuations, the Chilean-French Legacy a "smart will" and digital time capsule platform, Denmark's Media Sifter a web platform for detecting fake news, and the Italian UNICO a web platform for collectors of unique digital content.

Around 500 participants are expected at the event, organised by Cofound.it, which is a global company with around 50 staff, more than 30 of whom work in Ljubljana.
