Biathlete Fak wins first medal for Slovenia in PyeongChang

PyeongChang, 15 February - Biathlete Jakov Fak won silver in the men's 20-kilometre race on Thursday, the first medal for Slovenia at the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang and a career highlight for the 30-year-old.

Fak gave an impeccable shooting performance and hit all 20 targets to finish just five and a half seconds behind Johannes Thinges Boe of Norway. Austria's Dominik Landertinger won bronze.

This is the second Olympic medal for Fak, after he won bronze in the sprint race in Vancouver in 2010 when he represented Croatia.
