New chief-of-staff says army needs additional 1,200 troops

Ljubljana, 7 March - Major General Alan Geder, the new chief of the general staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces, said Wednesday the army would need an additional 1,200 soldiers to "function normally". To make matters worse, almost 900 soldiers are out of action due to urgent training, which is why the contract reserve will be called up as a stopgap measure.
