Slovenian prisons no longer overcrowded

Strasbourg, 23 March - For the first time in decades, Slovenia's prisons were no longer overcrowded in 2016, show the Annual Penal Statistics of the Council of Europe. In Slovenia, there were 98.9 prisoners per 100 prison places, which is higher than the European median of 91.6 but significantly lower than 105.8 in 2015 and 118 in 2014.
