Teenage superstar Dončić makes All-EuroLeague First Team

Madrid, 10 May - Slovenia's basketball prodigy Luka Dončić continues to boost his stock for this year's NBA draft, having been named into the 2017-18 All-EuroLeague First Team, the ideal five-man team of Europe's top club basketball competition. He is only the second Slovenian with the honour, following Erazem Lorbek in the 2011-12 season.

The 19-year-old Real Madrid star is joined in the best EuroLeague team by Nick Calathes (Panathinaikos), Nando De Colo (CSKA), Tornike Shengelia (Baskonia) and Jan Vesely (Fenerbahce).

The announcement comes after Dončić posted a triple-double (17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists) in the match against Betis on Wednesday, a rare feat in the Spanish basketball league, recorded for the last time in 2007.

Dončić also recently won the Rising Star Trophy of the EuroLeague for players under 22 for the second year in a row, beating players up to two years older than him.

The Slovenian has averaged 16.1 points, 4.4 assists and 4 rebounds a game in the current season, helping take Real Madrid to the EuroLeague Final Four tournament, which will be played between 18 and 20 May in Belgrade, Serbia.

The accolades will only help further boost his stock for the NBA draft, taking place on 21 June, where he is widely considered to be among the top three picks.
