The charity event, which also celebrates cultural diversity, will not only spoil visitors will culinary treats, but also with a dynamic cultural programme.

The list of guests this year includes President Borut Pahor and his spouse Tanja Pečar. Pahor decorated SILA this year for 25 years of exceptional humanitarian work.

According to the president, the association had grown into a veritable superpower "as a symbol of commitment with which its members weave the bonds of friendship and connection between people and countries".

The funds raised this year will go to several local organisations helping people with mental or other disabilities, struggling pensioners, adults with Asperger syndrome, and underprivileged children.

The Slovenian International Ladies' Association was founded in 1993 to encourage cultural and educational exchange as well as reinforce the relations between its members. It mostly features foreign businessmen and diplomats' wives.

The first bazaar was organised in 1994. It featured a dozen countries and raised over EUR 11,000 for the Ljubljana Paediatric Clinic.

So far, more than EUR 1.5m has been raised and used to help over 150 organisations and individuals in Slovenia.
