Ilka Štuhec's fans encouraged to support star skier

Maribor, 13 December - The national postal company has decided to make skier Ilka Štuhec's comeback after injury easier by inviting her fans to send her letters of support, postcards or drawings to a special address.

Fans can express their support to Ilka by sending her mail at Ilkina Pošta (Ilka's Mail), Hitra Cesta 1, 2002 Maribor, Slovenia, the EU.

"Fans are powerful motivators for athletes," said Pošta Slovenia, adding that classic mail was much more personal than e-mail and texts.

The postal company hopes this will help Štuhec, who is currently training hard, to do her best.

All the letters sent by the fans will be delivered to the 28-year-old and some of them, handpicked by the skier, will receive various prizes.

Štuhec returned to the Alpine Ski World Cup races just two weeks ago after skipping a season due to a knee injury. She finished the first downhill of the season on sixth place.
