Journalists protest against ministry okaying Večer-Dnevnik merger

Ljubljana, 21 December - An association and trade union representing journalists have protested against the Culture Ministry's decision to approve the merger of the publishers of the newspapers Dnevnik and Večer, arguing that it has not assessed the plan from the aspect of public interest and that it could lead to reduction of journalists' rights and possible lay-offs.
