Environmentalists call for comprehensive action to address food waste

Ljubljana, 18 March - Food waste and sustainable food production are not just environmental issues but also social and financial. Some 290,000 people in Slovenia live in poverty and there are 4,000 homeless in the country, which still throws out a third of its food, environmentalist Urška Zgojznik said at a debate wrapping up the Slovenian Development Days.
