Experts fear bark beetle outbreak in Triglav National Park

Bled, 25 April - Bark beetle infestation has decimated spruce forests in the Gorenjska region (NW) in the past few years, following the massive outbreak in 2014. The epidemic has left a deep scar on Slovenian forests, leading to more than 3,000 hectares of deforested areas, and continues to threaten protected primary forests.
