Bill providing recourse over bail-in passes first reading

Ljubljana, 21 May - A government-sponsored bill designed to provide legal recourse for holders of subordinated bank liabilities who were wiped out in the 2013 bank bailout was endorsed on first reading at the National Assembly on Tuesday although MPs expect improvements in later stages of the legislative procedure.

The National Assembly debates a bill providing legal recourse for junior shareholders and creditors wiped out in the 2013 bank bailout, and a proposal to set up a demographic fund.
