German settlers' culture celebrated in Kočevje

Kočevje, 23 September - A festival honouring the culture and heritage of Kočevarji (Gottscheers), the Germans who first settled in the Kočevje region in south Slovenia in the 14th century, opened on Monday evening with President Borut Pahor highlighting the role of coexistence between Slovenians and Kočevarji as he addressed the event.
