Maribor hospital staff stages a play for children

Maribor, 9 October - The staff at the paediatric clinic of the UKC Maribor hospital went well out of their way to make the children treated at the hospital feel better. They have staged a theatre play, which they will play for their little patients as well as their parents and custodians this afternoon.

The project was initiated by the hospital staff themselves, and psychiatrist Aleksandra Zavec has written and directed the play In Little Mouse's Glove.

"They have had rehearsals twice a week in their spare time, made all the necessary arrangements for the music accompanying the show themselves, the costumes, set and everything.

"We believe that children who are being treated at UKC Maribor at the moment will like the play and that it will keep their mind off their health problems at least for a while," the hospital said in a press release.

According to Zavec, the play has a positive message. "It all works out well in the end and the story has a message that makes us realise time and again that friendship helps us get through hard times and brings us joy every step of the way," Zavec wrote in the invitation to the show.

The play features eleven actors, a narrator and a person in charge of music.
