As representatives of countries and civil society from across the globe gather in Bled next week for the annual strategic forum, they will discuss topical challenges under the title A World of Parallel Realities. The forum's secretary general Peter Grk says the theme reflects the need to find ways to overcome social and geopolitical divisions.

Assuming a one-month presidency this Sunday, Slovenia will chair the UN Security Council in September during the high-level debate at the General Assembly. Ambassador Samuel Žbogar singled out a 25 September open debate at the highest level, titled Leadership for Peace and to be chaired by PM Robert Golob, as the central event.
