Upper chamber vetoes changes to tonnage tax act

Ljubljana, 24 December - The National Council vetoed on Tuesday changes to the tonnage tax act which extend for ten years special regulation under which shippers pay an alternative form of corporate tax. The veto had been proposed by a group of councillors who argue that the changes have no adequate safeguards against tax defaulters.
