Pivec beats Erjavec to become Pensioners' Party president
Ljubljana, 18 January - Agriculture Minister Aleksandra Pivec surprisingly defeated Defence Minister Karl Erjavec in a bitterly contested battle for the presidency of the coalition Pensioners' Party (DeSUS). Pivec won 145 votes at Saturday's congress to Erjavec's 80 to end his 15-year tenure at the helm of the party.
