Tonin green-lighted for defence minister, conscription a priority

Ljubljana, 10 March - New Slovenia (NSi) head Matej Tonin was backed for defence minister in Tuesday's confirmation hearing before the parliamentary committee after he defended plans to gradually reintroduce conscription. Also announcing a raising of the defence budget, he said he was "arriving as a fireman to put out the fire so a reconstruction can begin".
