Paper says HDZ opted for election before crisis hits hardest

Ljubljana, 19 May - Dnevnik suggests that Croatia's ruling HDZ party decided to hold this year's general election - due towards the end of the year - earlier, in early summer, because of the fear of an economic crisis resulting from the coronavirus pandemic which is expected to hit hard in the autumn, when the election campaign would have been in full swing.
