Fruit self-sufficiency rate down to 30% last year due to weather

Ljubljana, 12 November - Fruit growers in Slovenia produced 89,000 tonnes of fruit last year, which is about half of the 2018 output, the Statistic Office said on Thursday, attributing the drop to poor weather conditions. Domestic consumption also decreased, reaching 300,000 tonnes last year. The self-sufficiency rate thus dropped to 30%.
