Second proposal to give soldiers police powers rejected

Ljubljana, 26 November - The parliamentary Defence Committee rejected on Thursday a government proposal to give soldiers police powers to help the police patrol the border and thus better protect it from illegal migrants. Coalition and opposition National Party (SNS) MPs failed to get the MP from the four left-leaning opposition parties on board for a two-thirds majority.
